Two-factor authentication

Enabling 2FA with an authenticator app, and what happens at sign-in afterwards.

BeMetrix supports two-factor authentication with any standard authenticator app — Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden and others.

    Enabling it

    1. Open Settings → Security.
    2. Choose Enable two-factor authentication.
    3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app, or paste the setup key manually.
    4. Enter the six-digit code to confirm. 2FA is active only after this confirmation.

    Signing in with 2FA

After your password you are asked for the current six-digit code. Codes rotate roughly every 30 seconds; if a code is rejected, check that your phone's clock is set automatically.

    Sensitive actions

Changing your password or email requires an elevated session. If your session is not verified yet, the app asks for your authenticator code before the change is allowed.

    Losing your device

Keep the setup key somewhere safe when you enable 2FA. If you lose both the device and the key, contact support from the registered email address — see account recovery.

    Recommended

Enable 2FA on every account that can move money: owners, admins and anyone approving payouts.
