Changing your password or email

The verification steps required and why sensitive changes ask for more than a click.

    Changing your password

Open Settings → Security. The form asks for three fields:

    1. Current password.
    2. New password.
    3. Confirmation of the new password.

The current password is verified before anything changes, so a forgotten open session cannot be used to lock you out of your own account.

    Changing your email

Email changes go through confirmation on the new address. Until the new address is confirmed, the old one remains active for sign-in and notifications.

    When 2FA is enabled

Both changes require an elevated session. If your current session was not verified with a second factor, the app asks for your authenticator code first.

    Password guidance

Use a long unique password from a password manager. Do not reuse a password that also protects a streaming platform account or a wallet.

If you cannot sign in at all, see account recovery.
