Why record expenses

Income alone does not tell you whether a month worked. Expenses recorded in BeMetrix flow into profit figures on the dashboard and into period reports.

Adding an expense

1. Open Expenses → Add expense.
2. Set the date, amount and category (rent, equipment, marketing, salaries, other).
3. Optionally attach it to a specific creator when the cost belongs to one person.
4. Save.

Recurring costs

Enter recurring costs such as rent once per period rather than as a lump sum at year end — otherwise monthly comparisons become meaningless.

Expenses attached to creators

A cost tied to a creator can be taken into account when calculating what they are owed, depending on how your splits are configured. Be explicit with your team about which costs are deducted.

Solo accounts

Solo creators use the same screen for their own business costs, which makes the profit tile on the dashboard reflect reality rather than gross income.
