    How splits work

A split defines the share of income that goes to the creator and the share that stays with the studio. Splits are configured per creator, so a top performer can be on different terms from a newcomer.

    Where to set it

On the creator's member page, in the split configuration. The value applies to income recorded from that point on; it does not rewrite past calculations.

    Deductions

Decide explicitly whether expenses attached to a creator are deducted before or after the split, and keep that rule the same for everyone. Ambiguity here is the single biggest source of payout disputes.

    Transparency

Every payout line can be opened to show the shifts and transactions it came from and the split that was applied. Show a creator that screen once and most trust questions disappear.

    Changing terms

Announce split changes before they take effect, and change the configuration on the agreed date rather than backdating. The history stays readable that way.

    Next: payouts and withdrawals.
